Sandown Centre is centrally located on Sandown Road, Parklands, Cape Town, in between the new Checkers Hypermarket development and the existing Builders Warehouse. It is about 200 metres down the road from the new Parklands College Senior Campus facility.
The development comprises of two sites:
SITE 1: consists of 12 500sqm of retail, anchored by a 3381sqm Food Lovers Market. The Food Lovers brand has become synonymous with value, quality and a fresh new style of shopping sorely needed to refresh the South African market’s retail sector. Other confirmed tenants are KFC (drive-through), Tiger Wheel & Tyre, Perky Pet & Vet and Vide e Caffe. We are in talks with numerous national tenants for sites within the Centre, including a major gym operator for a 3500sqm facility. We do still have space available – both large and small.
Our rental rates are competitive for a retail development of this size and in this area. We are asking approximately R220/sqm, depending on the size and location of the store in question.
SITE 2: consists of approximately 6000sqm of development space that can either lend itself to retail or commercial use. We are in early discussions with several tenants for this site, and hope to have an offering of commercial offices to lease.
Galetti Commercial and Industrial sold the land at the end of 2010 to a foreign consortium, who are very strong developers and have years of experience in the building industry.

There is a plan to connect Parklands to the N7. It's dubbed the "Parklands Link," and as far as I know, it is currently under construction.

I presume this new centre / s will be kept neat, tidy and well maintained, so that it does not end up looking like Park West Centre on Parklands Main Road ? In Table View all of our centres are untidy , dirty and not maintained. Park West Centre is a classic example.

Whilst Galetti aren't responsible for the management of this centre, I completely agree with regards to other centres in the area slacking on maintenance!
