At a height of 30 storeys, the Strand-on-Adderley towers were due to come complete with a mix of office, residential, retail and hotel space – the exact figures to be determined by tenant demand. The towers were, naturally, going to be located on the corners of Strand and Adderley Streets in the Cape Town CBD, where they were to act as a “symbiotic gateway” into the city. The sites, currently occupied by two low-rise blocks, are clearly visible from key entrances into the city such as Cape Town Station, the nearby MyCiTi Civic Centre bus station, the Golden Arrow bus station, long-distance bus terminus, taxi rank and the Golden Acre.
Jointly designed by renowned South African architectural firms Louis Karol, Stauch Vorster and R&L, Strand-on-Adderley was set to redefine the inner city. Unfortunately, due to the global recession and the subsequent lack of demand, the developers scrapper the plan in its current form. They are currently informally investigating other options for the sites.

Hi Mickey. Thanks for the information...it seems that information doing the rounds in the public domain was wrong! Who were the actual team involved in the development?
